Love it here, there's so many fish and mammals and reptiles to look at. they have birds too. They're mostly famous for the shark they keep (not a huge one but it's a good size) Even if you're not looking to buy anything, they have lots of animals to just look at. The store has a fish section, a mammal section and inside the mammal section there's a room for the reptiles. The fish area stinks a bit and is kept warm, and the mammal area also has birds so it's quite loud but it's still fun. Line ups are not usually long, but they only have one counter with two registers so if it gets busy the line will take a while. They have pets for sale but they also have cages, food, toys, tanks and other things for pets as well. It's located in a plaza so parking is a bit limited but there's usually a couple spots since people are not in the stores for too long. It's right outside east gate mall so trying to get onto the road is pretty hard but manageable. I love going here and have been since I was very little, I'm pretty sure there's also an area to get your pets groomed (like in pet smart). Besides in the grooming area (which has a separate entrance) I don't think pets are allowed inside the store, at least I haven seen anyone being them inside and I haven't noticed a sign specifically saying they're not allowed in.

I'm from Buffalo and always make a point of stopping at this aquarium shop whenever I'm in the area, or on the way to Toronto and I have time to stop. This is absolutely one of the best aquarium shops in Southern Ontario and Western New York. It's big, the selection is like a Walmart, and the people that work there are always friendly and willing to help if I have questions. I've bought many items from the place over the years, with the exception of fish and plants because I can't take them across the border. If I could, I would definitely make such purchases. Even taking the current exchange rate into account, the prices at Big Al's are better than the mom & pop shops back home in Western New York.
